Director of such classics as The Blues Brothers, Animal House and Michael Jackson's Thriller, John Landis was greeted warmly at the opening of The Los Angeles Italia Film Festival at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Landis' career is not without controversy. In 1982 two children and one adult actor were killed during the filming of The Twilight Zone (The Movie) during a dangerous helicopter scene that went horribly out of control under John Landis' direction.
